Gentle december day 8

I hope you had a nice weekend. My daughter, Jane, turns 4 on Wednesday. It feels like she's been three for a million years. Truly wild. She's a great kid I love her a lot. Beatrice is ten and I love her a lot also. Good kids.

My favorite kids book today is Mr. Lepron's Mystery Soup by Giovanna Zoboli and Mariachiara Di Giorgio, translated by Denise Muir

This was my favorite picture book of 2024. About a quiet rabbit gent who loves to work with his family to harvest lots of vegetables and make excellent soup in his big old orange pot. Excellent art and a beautiful translation of an incredibly imaginative and dreamlike story. A slightly grown up version of Anita Lobel's Ten Hungry Rabbits, with an anti-capitalist bent.
