Happy International Non-Binary People’s Day!

Did you know that I'm non-binary!? It's true. If you didn't realize this, hi! I'm non-binary. I'm going to write about this for a minute, bear with me....

I have been doing the them/him thing for a while, and I'm not uptight about it but I have to admit that anytime someone uses "they" for me, my heart swells. The most important thing for me is not being treated like a man. (I shaved my beard) I'm not a man! I'm not a lady either. I've been reading Gene Wolfe's "Book of the New Son" and it was written in the 80's and is very good. There's a character in there that is referred to as an "Androgyne" and that's probably an offensive term, but reading it felt like, "oh hey it me!"

I can understand that this can be confusing for some folks but to be honest I feel like it's not a lot to get one's head around. I've been this way my whole life and the majority of my life was scary and confusing until I was given the license and language to understand myself. I hope this is cool with all of you. If it's not, I guess you should unsubscribe, and, as my hero David Lynch so eloquently put it, "Fix your hearts or die!"
