A grown-up grim companion to the Dave Eggers book Eyes and the Impossible. Totally upsetting if you care about animals being safe. Otherwise, an enthralling, captivating, beautifully written meditation on the horrors of war. Thought-provoking depiction of what the experience of being a good dog is like.
